Cohen’s Retreat Launches In-House Smoked BBQ Catering Service

Cohen’s Retreat is pleased to announce the launch of their barbecue catering service to meet the growing demand for popular in-house smoke meats created by Cohen’s Executive Chef Will Herrington.

“Barbeque is one of those deeply satisfying dishes typically involving large, fun crowds of family and friends,” said Chef Will Herrington. “We started experimenting with our in-house smoked meats last year on the menu and through word-of-mouth, Cohen’s has developed a real following of repeat happy patrons looking for our barbecue on the menu.”

Under the leadership of Chef Will Herrington and Pitmaster Sean Goggin, Cohen’s Retreat barbecue combines the low and slow principles of smoking meat with the techniques of classical cuisine. Using a 108-inch Lang smoker, Goggin uses all-wood to smoke Cohen’s sliced brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, full racks of ribs, whole chickens, and whole chicken wings. Freshly-made sides are also available including baked beans, coleslaw, collard greens, potato salad, and Chef’s own pickled vegetables.

“Our style pays homage to what the South is all about, coupled with the influences of the Carolinas and Texas - and fusing the region’s flavor profiles together in the sauce,” said Herrington. “We’re really excited to bring our special twist on BBQ to our customers. It’s truly a labor of love.”
