“Our organization is honored to present these deserving individuals, properties, and businesses with preservation awards commending their dedication to preserving our community. They truly embody HSF’s mission of saving buildings, places, and stories that define Savannah’s past, present, and future,” said HSF President and CEO Daniel Carey. “Demonstrated by this year’s range of winners, three of whom received two awards each, HSF’s preservation efforts are not limited to downtown. HSF fulfills our mission throughout all of Chatham County, including Tybee Island and many different areas including the Victorian, Starland, Moon River, and Thomas Square Streetcar historic districts.”

Preservation Award nominations are judged on the following general criteria:

Quality and degree of difficulty of the nominee’s project

Degree to which the nominee’s project or effort is unusual or pioneering, or serves as an example that influences good preservation practices

Demonstrable or measurable impact of nominee’s project on the community
