Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people age successfully, received $6,408.18 from Subaru of America’s annual Share the Love event for its Meals on Wheels program serving homebound seniors in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty counties.

As part of a national partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Subaru of America donated $250 for every new vehicle sold or leased from November 15, 2018, through January 2, 2019 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charities, one of which was Meals on Wheels. Since the Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated more than 2 million meals, safety checks, and friendly visits to seniors being served by local Meals on Wheels programs across the country.

SCI partnered with local Subaru dealer Chatham Parkway Subaru to host a senior gift collection as part of the event. On Tuesday, April 30, dealership staff presented a check to SCI President Patti Lyons.
