Dr. Chad Martins, an internal medicine physician who is certified in HIV medicine, has joined Memorial Health University Physicians’ Adult Primary Care practice on Lexington Avenue. He sees patients in the clinic and he trains resident physicians who have completed medical school.
Martins earned his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He is certified in HIV medicine through the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
“I have a passion for LGBT health and lifestyle management,” he said. “My certification in HIV medicine gives me confidence in providing primary care for patients with HIV.”
He specifically trained in a primary care-oriented residency because he believes in the health benefits of a lifelong relationship between physician and patient.
“I love the intellectual stimulation of learning, but even more the path through wellness we all share,” he said.
Martins and his husband relocated to Savannah from Washington, DC, in June. Their daughter, Diana, was born via surrogate at Memorial Health University Medical Center last year, an experience that had a tremendous impact on them.
“We were blown away by the level of care we received,” he said. “So when I learned of a teaching opportunity here, I was elated to join the HCA family.”
