Memorial Health University Physicians’ Women’s Care practice in Richmond Hill has welcomed Dr. Brittany Merritt. A native of Roswell, GA, she practiced in Snellville, GA, before moving to Richmond Hill.

With her family nearby in Hilton Head Island, SC, she is ready to focus on her passions: obstetrics and family planning.

“I love that I’m in the one field of medicine where patients often come to me for the most joyous event of their lives,” she says. “Every delivery is special and unique, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of that.

“I’m also thankful that I get to be a support system for women in times of need,” she adds. “I really enjoy the long-lasting relationships that allow me to take care of women throughout their lives. I want to be that trusted friend or family member that they feel comfortable talking with about any and all issues.”

Merritt says availability is key to providing outstanding patient care. That includes offering same-day or next-day appointments for urgent issues, giving patients lab and imaging results as soon as possible and returning phone calls and emails quickly.

A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, Merritt completed her OB/GYN residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, where she was named chief resident. She also earned her Master of Public Health degree while at Emory.

Outside of the office, Merritt and her husband, Holmes, love to travel, snorkel, scuba dive and visit “great places known for their food and wine.” They have two cats, a dog and a new nephew.

“We’re both social butterflies, so if you see us out and about, please stop and say hi,” she says.
