Whale Week to Host first Whales and Whiskey VIP Reception with Ghost Coast Distillery and Tybee Island Marine Science Center

Ghost Coast Distillery and Tybee Island Marine Science Center are hosting Whales and Whiskey, the city’s first Whale Week VIP reception, on November 6, 2019. The event will take place at Ghost Coast from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will celebrate the North Atlantic right whale.
 
“We are honored to be raising funds for the North Atlantic right whale and are dedicated to increasing awareness for our ecosystem.,” said Maria Procopio Tybee Island Marine Science Center Executive Director. “We invite the community to join us as we celebrate our coast and the state’s official marine mammal.”
 
“Whale Week started as a one night show less than two years ago, and based on the warm reception by the local Savannah community we are now partnering with schools, organizations, and businesses to host a full week of Whale Week events for all ages and diverse interests” said Paulita Bennett-Martin, co – founder of Whale Week “North Atlantic right whales come to the ocean off Georgia every year to have their calves, making Savannah the perfect place to build awareness for this highly endangered species”.
 
Ghost Coast Distillery, Loop it Up, Dr. Simona Perry, Tybee Island Marine Science Center and W Projects will host a VIP reception with silent auction, dinner and a cash bar with signature cocktail. Ghost Coast will also launch a limited edition Whiskey Whale and tees-shirt line at the event.  Whale Week will also name one individual who has committed resources and passion to the conversation of the oceans as this year’s annual whale guardian.  Whales and Whiskey will also feature Gib Brogan of the international organization Oceana, as a special guest speaker.
 
All proceeds from the event will go to supporting Whale Week events and year-round whale programming at Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
