Charity Volleyball Tourney to Benefit Greenbriar
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, December 6th, 2019
Greenbriar Children’s Center has been named the beneficiary of the Savannah Adult Recreation Club’s Annual Charity Volleyball Tournament to be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in Forsyth Park. To celebrate his recent purchase of the club, owner Andrew Webster is holding the tournament and is asking for all participants to forego the usual registration fee, and instead bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event. The gifts will then be donated to Greenbriar Children's Center, which runs a children's shelter and two early learning centers.
The 4 vs. 4 co-ed grass, volleyball tournament will be played with a minimum of 1 girl per team. Participants without a team may sign up as a “free agent” and will be assigned a team to play with for the day. The format for the tournament will be pool play plus playoffs for top teams.
