Calvary Day School hosted its inaugural alumni ball honoring new members of the Calvary Athletic Hall of Fame and distinguished Cavalier Society on Saturday, January 11 at the Alida Hotel.

Honorees from the event include Jackie Hamilton (‘80), Lee Lane (‘86), Scott Tapp (‘86), Susie Kleinpeter Grames (‘94), and Katie Covington Scherer (‘09) who were all inducted as the inaugural class to the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame as well as Patty Cannady, Ted Carellas (‘77) and Bob Stewart who were named the newest inductees to the Distinguished Cavalier Society.

Calvary Day School’s Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes and honors those Calvary Day School athletes, coaches, administrators, and supporters who have excelled in their respective sports or coaching/support roles. Recipients of this award have helped to bring honor, recognition, distinction, and excellence to Calvary Day School by their conduct both in and out of competition. This recognition will help maintain the spirit, pride, and sense of community as well as serving as a historical account of the great athletic traditions of Calvary Day School.

The Distinguished Cavalier Society honors those Cavaliers who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have honored the legacy of Calvary Day School. Members of this society are recognized by their professional achievements as well as their service to society. This distinction will be reflective of Calvary’s desire to build in its students the core values of Faith, Academics, and Excellence.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Mark Tillman (‘79) Memorial Scholarship, an endowed scholarship honoring the Legacy of Mark Tillman.
