Kat Thompson Joins EmployAbility

Kat Thompson has joined EmployAbility as the Director of Training and Supported Employment, a position previously held by current CEO/President Brendan Ferrara. In this role, Thompson will oversee EmployAbility’s Pre-Vocational Training program, The Academy, as well as its Supported Employment Services program.

Thompson will be focused on curriculum and program development, enhancing the organization’s educational learning spaces, and continuing the organization’s commitment to creating innovative and comprehensive training for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), to prepare them for successful employment in a wide variety of industries.

Thompson brings with her 10 years of program development, advocacy, and leadership experience. Most recently, Thompson worked for South Enotah Child Advocacy Center (SECAC) in Cleveland, GA where she served as the Executive Director. Before working for SECAC, Thompson served as Executive Director at the Child and Youth Advocacy Center (CYAC), a non-profit child advocacy center in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where she was responsible for all facets of the organization’s operations, development, outreach, and accreditation. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Emory University and both a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
