Grand Lake Club at Southbridge to Co-Sponsor Meals for Medical’s Final Meal

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, May 21st, 2020

On Wednesday, May 19, the Grand Lake Club at Southbridge will be co-sponsoring the last meal for Meals for Medical, a pandemic inspired group founded by former physician’s assistant Jennifer Green, that cooks and delivers roughly 315 meals per day to healthcare workers and at all three Savannah hospitals and a handful of first responders throughout Chatham County.

“Throughout this pandemic, my team and I have continued to strive to be the "core of the community" in assisting those in need, so it is truly an honor to be a part of the last meal for a group that serves those who have been the true heroes throughout all of this,” said Grand Lake General Manager, Tara O’Sullivan.

To date, Meals for Medical has served over 12,000 meals and raised over $73,000. For the last
meal of the pandemic, O’Sullivan, along with sponsors such as Top Tint of Savannah's owner Pat Ferbert, will be helping to cook and deliver over 300 meals, an effort that lifts the spirits of Savannah healthcare workers, while also pumping money into local businesses such as restaurants and food providers.

“This entire effort really brings everything full circle for me,” explained O’Sullivan. “There’s not many organizations where you can support those on the frontline of this tragedy while also stimulating the local economy, so to be able to be a part of this is just a true blessing for me.”
