Moe's Partners with Family Promise to Feed Families in Need

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Moe’s Southwest Grill is feeding families and fueling hope by partnering with Family Promise to provide meals to those in need based on customer purchases. For every Taco Kit purchased in the month of May, Moe’s is donating one to a local family in need through Family Promise affiliates. Family Promise – which helps families facing homelessness or crisis by providing shelter, food, and resources – has affiliates in Savannah, Bryan and Effingham counties.

Locally, the Moe’s restaurants at 246 Pooler Parkway and 7801 Abercorn Street are participating. The special initiative runs through May 31. The Taco Kits cost $30; they serve four to six people and include 12 soft flour tortillas, the customer’s choice of two proteins, lettuce, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, rice, beans, sour cream, a bowl of queso and tortilla chips to share.

To place an order, customers can call their closest Moe’s or go online to https://familypromise.org/moes/. Locally, orders can either be picked up at the Moe’s stores on Abercorn or Pooler Parkway. Family Promise will then host “Taco Tuesdays with Family Promise” every Tuesday as they visit communities across Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties to give away the donated taco kits to families in need. Each week, Family Promise will hand out 200 free taco kits. The giveaway locations will be listed on Family Promise’s social media – Facebook and Instagram – ahead of the delivery days.

“Enjoy a taco night with your family and know that a local family in need is feeding theirs as well. We are all in this together,” Family Promise of Greater Savannah Executive Director Katrina Bostick said.
