The Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival (GOSF) Committee announced today that the 2020 Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival, scheduled for November 6-8, will be canceled. The decision was based on many factors, including budgetary concerns and the health of the Richmond Hill-Bryan County community in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Canceling this years festival was a difficult decision to make, but the GOSF Committee felt it was not a responsible use of our members’ dues in a time of financial uncertainty nor was it in the best interest of our communitys health,” said Kathryn Johnson, CEO of the Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce.

The Great Ogeechee Seafood festival takes months, almost an entire year, to plan and therefore waiting until later this year to make a decision would be detrimental to the Festival, Sponsors, Vendors, Artisans and Community Non-Profits.

All vendors and sponsors who paid to participate in the 2020 festival will have their fees refunded.

The Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival is slated to return in the Fall of 2021, to continue the wonderful tradition of delicious seafood, community camaraderie, amusement rides, and live entertainment.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the Fall of 2021 and continuing our mission of supporting local business and non-profits,” Johnson adds.
