Savannah Repertory Theatre Announces Executive Artistic Team

Savannah Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce their new Executive Artistic Team led by Executive Artistic Director, Ryan McCurdy and Managing Director, Jennifer Bishop.

Ryan McCurdy serves as Savannah Rep's new Executive Artistic Director, He was a co-founder in 2006 of the Savannah venue The Freight Station (which later became Muse Arts Warehouse), a founding member of Odd Lot Improv, and a director and teacher with Savannah's Department of Cultural Affairs. For nearly a decade He worked with Angela Beasley's Puppet People and was the Attraction Designer of Savannah's American Prohibition Museum. Ryan currently works as a director, teacher, and designer at regional theaters across the United States. He is thrilled to return to this city that feels so much like home.

Jennifer Bishop has been performing and studying theatre all over the world since the age of 9. You’ll find she has been a part of every show at Savannah Rep either onstage acting, offstage as stage manager, and behind the table directing. Her favorite is discovering talent as a casting director by seeing as much of the theatre Savannah has to offer. Credits: Mairead in “The Lieutenant of Inishmore”, Rhetta Cupp in“Pump Boys & Dinettes”, and Miep Gies in “The Diary of Anne Frank”. She also Directed and Stage Managed “Little Women the Musical”. 

Nick Corley happily continues as Savannah Rep's Associate Artistic Director. An original founding member, he has directed 5 shows for the Rep including the immersive The Diary of Anne Frank and the recent “Around The World in 80 Days”.  His work as a Director, Writer, and Actor has been seen all over the world including 8 Broadway shows, multiple tv appearances and the motion picture “Kissing Jessica Stein”. Recently he recently served as the associate director of the Broadway revivals of “Burn This” and “Plaza Suite”. 

Sandra Karas, serves as Savannah Rep's Artistic Advisor. She was part of the inaugural production of the company, “The Importance of Being Earnest”. Since then, she has either acted in or directed productions for the company. Last year, she took on the advisory role with the goal of helping shape the theatre's artistic future.  On stage you've seen her as Lady Bracknell in “The Importance of Being Earnest”, Christina Drayton in “Guess Who's Coming to DInner?”, and Marie Lombardi in “Lombardi”.  Last season, Sandra directed “Driving Miss Daisy” and “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike”.
