The newly constructed portion of the Ft. McAllister intersection is scheduled to be aligned with State Route 144 in what will be the final configuration of the intersection. APAC-Atlantic, Inc. plans to shift traffic on Ft. McAllister Road starting Monday, September 28 to accommodate the work. In addition, a left turn arrow and a “stop sign ahead” sign will be utilized to keep traffic flowing smoothly and safely. A new message board has been installed to advise motorists of the new traffic pattern and the date on which it starts.  

Access to drives on the north side of the project will be maintained by channelizing traffic to the new pattern, levelling in existing Ft. McAllister Road lanes as needed, and adjusting stop signs and stop bars accordingly. Temporary traffic striping tape will be used during the shift at the intersection and between lanes of travel to channelize traffic until temporary striping can be installed. Sock drains have been installed to maintain drainage.
