While 2020 was a year like no other, the Habersham YMCA was determined to meet the needs of the community especially during Christmas and COVID.  In celebration of the Y’s 24^th Annual Giving Tree, the Y partnered with EnviorVac to serve those in need during the holiday.   The employees of EnviroVac launched a fundraiser which raised thousands of dollars to support the children and seniors in our community.  EnviroVac CEO, Kevin Jackson, gave praises to his employees for their efforts. "I am so proud of our EnviroVac employees for demonstrating the true meaning of Christmas! As a company, we came together and raised $6,000 for this year’s Giving Tree. We are grateful for all that the Habersham Y does for our community throughout...the year, and especially during the Holiday Season. We are happy to support such a worthy cause and make this Christmas a little brighter for local children in need.”

This event is equally important to the staff and members of the YMCA.  According to Shannon Horst, YMCA Senior Membership and Program Director, this is one of the initiatives that the staff look forward to each year.   “I can’t imagine what it would feel like as a parent to not be able to provide a gift for my child at Christmas.  This is an opportunity for us to make a big difference in a child’s life and make things easier for struggling families during the holidays.”
