Staff Report

Monday, November 29th, 2021

Savannah is America's Hostess City and this year we celebrate the city's entertaining traditions with events in historic homes and gardens surrounded by antiques and classic decor.  Organized by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Georgia, a 501C3 non-profit organization, this event supports the ongoing preservation of two of the City's prominent historic houses, the Andrew Low House Museum and the Green-Meldrim House.

Keynote Speaker, Suzanne Kasler is a world-renowned American designer of interiors and objects and author of multiple books on design who will join us for two seated presentations, a picnic lunch , and book signings in the garden of the Andrew Low House Museum.  Missing the high and the low, traditional, and contemporary, Kasler's signature interiors and products convey a sophisticated simplicity.  Her work has been published in major design magazines including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and Veranda.  Her award-winning interiors have been captured in three books with Rizzoli, Inspired Interiors, Timeless Style, and her most recent title, Sophisticated Simplicity.  In addition to designing timeless interiors for her clients, Suzanne has produced signature lines for Ballard Designs, Hickory Chair, La Cornue, Lee Jofa, and Visual Comfort.

There will be a fun table-setting contest with celebrity judges and prizes at the Green-Meldrim House.  Regional designers, merchants, hostesses, and party planners will create Tablescapes for a contest utilizing antiques and other local resources.
Attendees may vote for the People's Choice Award and celebrity judges will select the top winners.
