The Honor Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) Medallion Program recognizes employers who recruit, hire, and retain veterans and is the only federal veterans’ employment award of its kind.

During a virtual awards ceremony, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh said the companies awarded the medallion recognize the unique value veterans bring to the workforce. The awards are administered by the Department of Labor’s Veteran’s Employment and Training Service, with criteria based on providing hiring and retention, veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, compensation programs, and tuition assistance programs.
