The City of Savannah invites the community to come celebrate as they host the unveiling of Yamacraw Square’s new sign and art restoration at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 4.

The formerly known Yamacraw Art Park underwent a public process to assess the community’s desire for the space’s new name, in which Yamacraw Square was chosen and voted on by City Council in March.

Local sculptor and designer Jerome B. Meadows was commissioned to design, create, and install artwork in the park and has since restored the existing public art in the now publicly recognized historic Square.

The Square is located on West Bay Street, directly across from the US Post Office, and will function in the same capacity as the other historic Squares in Savannah.
