Staff Report

Monday, February 6th, 2023

On Saturday, February 25th, local families are invited to celebrate the fun and whimsical world of Dr. Seuss during Seuss Fest. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character in honor of the children's book author. The event will take place from 10 am to 1pm at Savannah Children’s Museum, 655 Louisville Rd. Savannah, GA 31401.

“We are counting the days to Seuss Fest, one of our favorite events of the year!” said Elisabeth Chappell, Education Specialist at Coastal Heritage Society. “It is wacky, wonderous and fantastical! This year we will have exciting and engaging educational programs using Dr. Seuss’s famous books to teach literacy, art, science, and environmental lessons. The day will be filled with learning through play as children expand their imaginations. Our educators will be dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, and we invite you to join us as we celebrate our love of learning!”

Our museum educators will lead the group with Seuss stories, games and activities. Dancing Oobleck, fantastical arts & crafts, and a rhyming scavenger hunt maze are only a few of the fun activities in which families can participate. We will also have many community partners providing Seuss-filled fun throughout the day!

Admission to Seuss Fest is included in the cost of regular admission to Savannah Children’s Museum, $10 for all guests 18 months and older. Admission can be purchased online ahead of time here. This event is free for Coastal Heritage Society members. Members also receive 10% off in the gift shop!
