Clark Creative Communications, a highly engaged creative design studio, recently celebrated 10 years of shaping the brands, websites and logos of businesses in the Savannah community and beyond. Over the past decade, the small business has had its work featured in three internationally published design books and won a number of international, national awards and regional awards.

“When I first opened Clark Creative in 2004, it was to offer business identity, package design, brand development, marketing materials and websites to businesses that wished to set their products apart in a dynamic way,” said Cari Clark Phelps, owner and creative director. “Now the company has expanded to include social media, marketing and public relations strategies as well.”

In addition to Phelps, Clark Creative has a team of two graphic designers, Allison Bright and Brittany Laughlin, and a communications assistant, Jordan Rankin. Together, they have worked with well-known companies in the Savannah community, including The Parker Companies, PIER Commercial Real Estate, Savannah State University, The Paula Deen Store and Savannah Bee Company, among others.

Clark Creative has won a number of awards, including Savannah Magazine’s Best Design Firm (2013), Buy Local Savannah’s Business of the Year (2008) and the Small Business Chamber’s New and Emerging Business of the Year (2005). The company has also been awarded the Best Image Building Campaign in Georgia by the Georgia Downtown Association and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the 2011 Communications Award of Merit for Annual Report design by the Southern Economic Development Council, and multiple ADDY awards, including a Best of Show.

In addition to Clark Creative, Phelps recently established Salacia Salts, a sea-inspired bath and body care product line made with Southern botanicals, essential oils and Atlantic sea salt. She also founded the cSpot, a monthly meeting group to cultivate a stronger community of those within the creative industries.
