Three former major winners and the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion have committed to play in the 2015 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.  John Daly, David Toms, Gunn Yang and Team RBC’s Ernie Els will be competing in South Carolina’s signature golf event April 13-19 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island.

They are joined by past champions Graeme McDowell, Stewart Cink, Glen Day, Jim Furyk, Justin Leonard, Carl Pettersson, Brandt Snedeker and Boo Weekley.

Daly joined the PGA TOUR in 1991 and won the PGA Championship that same year.  Since then he has won four more times on the PGA TOUR. Daly has played Harbour Town eleven times since 1993.

Els is one of the most successful golfers in the history of the game, having won 72 tournaments since turning professional in 1989, including the 2002 and 2012 British Open Championship and the 1994 and 1997 U.S. Open Championship.  He has captured two World Golf Championships and a record seven World Matchplay titles. The Team RBC Ambassador has competed at Harbour Town 15 times and has carded six top ten finishes and has earned more than $1.3 million.

Toms has 13 wins on the PGA TOUR including the 2001 PGA Championship.  He has been a member of four Presidents Cup teams and three Ryder Cup teams.   Since turning pro in 1989, the LSU alum has only competed in the RBC Heritage five times.

Yang is a sophomore at San Diego State.  The Korean native was the underdog going into the 2014 US Amateur at Atlanta Athletic Club’s Highlands Course.  He was ranked just 776 in the world when he beat #1 ranked Ollie Schniederjans before beating Canadian Corey Conners, who currents sits in the #1 spot.

Tom Watson Returning to Harbour Town Golf Links

One of golf’s most respected players has committed to play in the 2015 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.  Two-time champion Tom Watson will be returning to compete in South Carolina’s signature golf event April 13-19 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island.

He is joined by past champions Graeme McDowell, Stewart Cink, Glen Day, Jim Furyk, Justin Leonard, Carl Pettersson, Brandt Snedeker and Boo Weekley.  Also committed to play are John Daly, Ernie Els and David Toms.

“It was an honor to have Tom join us last year.  Having him commit again says a lot about what this tournament means to him,” said Steve Wilmot as he announced the news. “It will once again be a great treat for sponsors and fans to get to watch him for a second year in a row.”

Watson is considered one of the PGA TOUR's greatest players. The Missouri resident has earned an incredible 39 wins and also has 14 Champions TOUR victories. He has won two Tartan Jackets at Harbour Town.  In 1979, he beat Ed Sneed by 5 strokes finishing at 18-under.  He won again in 1982 after a three-hole playoff with Frank Conner. He was a member of four Ryder Cup Teams and served as Captain in 1993 and again last year.  The Stanford University graduate will be making his 25th start at the RBC Heritage.  He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1988.

“Harbour Town Golf Links is one of my all-time favorite courses,” said Tom when he made the announcement. “I can't wait to play it once again in the RBC Heritage this coming April.”
