United Way of the Coastal Empire received a major donation from top companies and their employees, putting the organization at 92 percent or $7,497,734 toward its $8.15 million fundraising goal.  Colonial Group, Georgia Ports Authority, and Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, collectively announced giving $2,438,540 to United Way. This contribution to the United Way consists of the employee pledges and corporate commitment.

“We are grateful for the generosity of thousands of employees who give to the United Way through their workplace campaign,” said Campaign Chair Ken Rabitsch, Savannah Market President of Synovus.
“Year after year, these employees lead the way to make sure that the well-being of the community where they live, work, and play is better.”

Workplace giving is an organized, company-sponsored fundraising drive where employees have an opportunity to make a meaningful gift to United Way. Last year, workplace giving represented 55 percent of United Way total fundraising campaign.

These generous contributions from United Way’s top donors will help the organization continue investing in critical programs in Education and Youth Development, Economic Independence, and Health and Wellness throughout our areas of service. This year, United Way of the Coastal Empire funds 87 programs and services across 54 nonprofits in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties.
