The 9th annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign wrapped up with a Virtual Grand Finale Celebration. The event celebrated the hard work of sixteen local business leaders and their teams. Collectively they raised $485,130 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission to find a cure for blood cancer and provide support to patients and their families.

Every dollar the candidates raised counted as one “vote” and the candidates with the most votes were awarded the titles Man & Woman of the Year. Team Love Like Susu, led by Matthew Usher with W. Ray Williams & Associates, earned the title of Man of the Year by raising $139,754. The Runner Up Man of the Year was David Wills with Moffatt + Nichol, leading his team, One Call Away, to raise $51,285. The title of Woman of the Year was awarded to Caroline Gregory, with Sterling Seacrest Pritchard. Her team, Caroline’s Crusaders, raised $52,695. The Runner Up Woman of the Year was Sandi Prosnitz with LoGo Goods. Her team, Got CUREage, raised $48,524. All the candidates competed in honor of LLS’s Boy & Girl of the Year, Andrew and Braylynn, local children who are blood cancer survivors and sources of inspiration to others.

“The impact these candidates have made in the fight against cancer is extraordinary. They have remained positive while implementing their campaign strategies through challenging and sometimes uncertain times. These business leaders continued to raise awareness of the LLS mission and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication and accomplishments. Our generous community has helped us reach a cumulative total for this campaign of over $3.5 million in the past nine years,” said Jennie Brewster, Campaign Development Director for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia/South Carolina Region.

In addition, Citizenship Awards were presented to those candidates who incorporated the LLS mission into their campaign and went above and beyond to engage their community. The Mission Integration Award was earned by Ashli Clubine, Infinity, Inc. and her team Redheads for Red Cells. The Volunteerism Award was awarded to Rhett Robicheaux, Savannah Yacht Club and his team Lee Strong. The Community Involvement Award was awarded to Rachael Currie, Lasky Cooper Law and her team Currie’s Cancer Crushers. Team Member of the Year went to Ashleigh WomackSeymour, team Caroline’s Crusaders.

The candidates were selected by a Leadership Team chaired by Zach Thomas and Emily Bailey.
