Savannah Area Locals Named to Georgia Southern’s ‘40 Under 40’ Class of 2021

Brooke Ann Childers, Melissa Gaule, Paige Murphy Glazer, Nick Palumbo and Karla L. Sapp, Ed.D., have been named to the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2021. The honor recognizes alumni who have made significant strides in business, leadership, community, educational or philanthropic endeavors.

Childers graduated from Georgia Southern in 2005 with a bachelor’s in political science. Today, she is the district director for U.S. Representative Buddy Carter.

Gaule earned a bachelor’s in health science from Armstrong State University in 2014. Currently, she is director of palliative care and provider management for Hospice Savannah, Inc.

Glazer graduated from Georgia Southern with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 2006. She is CEO of Reflections Media Communications in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

Palumbo earned a Master of Teaching degree from Armstrong State in 2014. Today, he is an alderman for the City of Savannah.

Sapp graduated with a bachelor’s in criminal justice from Georgia Southern in 2004. Today, she is the drug abuse program coordinator for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and a clinical psychologist for the Department of Justice. She resides in Midway, Georgia. 

The “40 Under 40” honorees were chosen by a selection committee that reviewed each individual’s professional expertise, achievements, dedication to charitable and community initiatives and their commitment to Georgia Southern.

“Each year, we recognize the best and brightest among us, and each year we are continually impressed with the excellence of each class,” stated Alumni Association President Alton Standifer (‘12 ‘14). “This year is no exception. Georgia Southern alumni occupy some of the highest positions in state government, in industries and businesses, in education and health care and more. Thank you all for all you do, and for representing our alma mater with distinction.”
