Thursday, July 31st, 2014

CenterPoint Properties proudly announces the acquisition of an 18.2-acre container yard at 6069 Commerce Boulevard, Garden City, Georgia. The property is strategically located within two miles of the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal; the second largest container port on the East Coast handling approximately 3 million TEUs per year. This location allows CenterPoint customers to take advantage of reduced drayage costs due to immediate access to the port.

Danny Chase of Colliers International represented Container Maintenance Group, while John Neely of Colliers International represented CenterPoint in the transaction.

The 18.2-acre stoned, lit and fenced container yard, is under a three-year lease agreement with Container Maintenance Group. The property is located within long‐term transportation advantages and superior location to I-95 and I-16.

“CenterPoint is currently focused on investing in port-related and logistically advantaged facilities in the Southeast. We find that our client-base thrives in areas of dense populations, centrally located to the ports, such as Savannah, that have immediacy to major interstates and highways,” said senior vice president of development, Brian McKiernan.
