The two-day 2015 Critz Tybee Run Fest proved to be one of the spectacular race events on the eastern coastline. High registration numbers and perfect running weather, combined with the race’s unique format and much more made this year’s event one for the record books. Organizers, race management, and sponsors went out of their way to make participants and spectators alike feel at home by providing an exciting five-race format, with a fun, athletic environment, along with food, drinks, and music.

This race weekend, still the only one of its kind, presented the opportunity for a large variety of runners to participate in the five-race event, total distance equaling a full marathon. Participants came from as far as Canada, Nevada and international runners hailed from Germany, France, and Spain.

“I've been a runner for about 36 years and have been in thousands of races. The 5K was one of the best I've raced in. Everything was perfect! The course, (love the night time event!), and the food and beer afterwards! To add to it.....I had my best 5K time in several years! Thanks so very much!” said Bill from Connecticut, after the North Beach Bar & Grill 5K race. 

Sunshine and amazing weather made it easy for runners and spectators to stay after the races to enjoy blue skies, food and drinks on the gorgeous Tybee Island beach. Title sponsoring restaurants, North Beach Bar & Grill, Sundae Café, and Lighthouse Pizza, served up delicious food for participants and festival attendees. While other sponsors, Coca-Cola and Savannah Distributing, provided Dasani Water, Powerade, Corona and Coastal Empire Tybee Island beer to help wash it down. 

“2015 proved that runners love the event and the Critz Tybee Run Fest is here to stay,” commented Dale Critz Jr., title sponsor and main organizer of the event. “Everybody involved gave their all to make this race happen – it is truly a one of a kind race weekend and we are looking forward to welcoming everybody again in 2016.”
