The Telfair Academy Guild presents the Second Annual Rooms With A View, a stunning interior design showhouse constructed inside the Jepson Center Eckburg Atrium from December 3-18. The two-week-long exhibit features local interior designers along with the internationally acclaimed designer Mary McDonald. The theme is inspired by the groundbreaking Monet and American Impressionism exhibition currently on view at Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center.

Award winning Los Angeles-based designer Mary McDonald will be the featured speaker at the lecture and luncheon on December 4. She is one of today’s most sought after tastemakers and an internationally acclaimed interior designer. McDonald is consistently ranked as one of House Beautiful’s “Top 100 Designers.” She has been the recipient of the prestigious Stars of Design Award and has been honored as one of the top 25 designers by Veranda Magazine. McDonald’s book called MARY MCDONALD: INTERIORS: The Allure of Style will be offered for sale at the Jepson Store.

“Incredible design talent and a certain element of magic have created lavishly decorated rooms exclusively for the Rooms With A View showhouse,” said Gail Lawrence, Co-Chair of the Rooms With A View exhibit. “These brilliant designers have woven in elements of Impressionism color and technique to remind us that the artistic inspiration comes in many forms. As Mary McDonald says, ‘A well-designed room should beckon you, make you feel welcome and wanting a little bit…more.’ This showcase is designed to do just that.”

The furniture and artwork from the showhouse are available for sale. In addition, one of the six rooms will be set up as a Parisian “Artist Salon” for several local artists to display their work.
