Parker’s, an award-winning convenience store leader, recently donated $9,000 to Effingham County Public Schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community charitable initiative. Effingham Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse accepted the donation on behalf of the school district at a special ceremony held at Springfield Elementary School in Springfield, Ga. on May 24.

Parker’s donates a portion of every gallon of gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. PumpPal club members can select which school will receive the proceeds from their Fueling the Community gas purchase on the first Wednesday.

"Giving back to the community is part of the Parker’s DNA," said Parker’s Director of Operations Jeff Bush. "We believe in the power of education and are delighted to support the teachers in Effingham County who support student success and transform lives in their classrooms every day."

Parker’s originally launched its charitable initiative in 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools in every community where Parker’s does business. The company operates 49 convenience stores in Georgia and South Carolina and completes more than 100,000 transactions daily.
