Residents Encouraged to Attend Upcoming Neighborhood Leadership Institute on Emergency Preparedness

Neighborhood leaders and community organizations are invited to attend the City of Savannah’s Department of Community Planning and Development Neighborhood Leadership Institute session: Emergency Preparedness for Residents and Community Organizations. This event will be held on Saturday, May 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm Street. City, County, and State emergency management officials will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate practical tips, tools, and strategies for residents and community organizations to best prepare for all manner of emergencies and extreme weather events. The session will be facilitated by Dr. Emmanuel Nojang, professor of Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Savannah State University.

Participants are encouraged to arrive on time for the Information Fair and complimentary breakfast. Information Fair participants include: Chatham Emergency Management Agency, Savannah Fire and Emergency Services, Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department, City of Savannah’s Housing Department, American Red Cross of Southeast Georgia, America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, and more.
