Georgia Southern University is pleased to announce the appointment of members of Armstrong State University’s senior leadership to positions with the new, consolidated Georgia Southern University.

Lisa Sweany
Deputy Athletic Director
Lisa M. Sweany brings more than 15 years of award-winning experience to her current role as the director of athletics at Armstrong State University. In 2017, she was named an Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year for NCAA Division II and brought the Pirates unprecedented success both on and off the playing field.

Effective January 1, 2018, contingent upon the Board of Regents’ approval of the new, consolidated institution:

Kelly Crosby
Director of Risk and Compliance
Kelly J. Crosby is currently the chief audit officer in Armstrong State University's Office of Internal Audit, overseeing risk assessment, audit activities and compliance with state guidelines. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Law Enforcement Auditor with a B.B.A. in Public Accounting from Georgia Southern University.

Lee Davis
Deputy Executive Counsel
E. Lee Davis, Esq. is currently University Counsel at Armstrong State University, and is the former Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs at Georgia Southern University. He earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1991 after graduating summa cum laude from Georgia Southern in 1987.

Tim Moody
Deputy Chief Information Officer
Tim Moody, an information technology leader with 23 years of industry experience, serves as the Chief Information Officer at Armstrong State University. Moody has excelled at Fortune 500 companies and in higher education and is recognized as a strategic technical innovator and accomplished IT executive.

The next phase in shaping the new Georgia Southern will be within the divisional areas. In the coming weeks, the Vice Presidents will be assessing their respective areas and formulating their organizational structures. Announcements related to this process are forthcoming.

On Jan. 11, 2017, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia voted to consolidate Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University, ultimately creating a new Georgia Southern University with three campus locations in Savannah, Hinesville and Statesboro. Consolidaton Implementation Committee members, Functional Area co-chairs and Operational Working Groups uniting Armstrong and Georgia Southern faculty and staff are currently examining and working through all aspects of the consolidation.
