As the Georgia Center for Nonprofits kicks off a new Georgia Gives on Giving Tuesday campaign, Greenbriar Children’s Center is gearing up to unveil special campaign of its own.

Georgia Gives Day and Giving Tuesday, usually two separate initiatives, have been aligned this year to create one enormous day of online giving – Nov. 28. This marks the sixth year for both. Georgia Gives, a statewide 24-hour online donation initiative, kicks off the giving season and supports more than 2,500 Georgia nonprofits. Last year, nonprofits raised $3.9 million on Georgia Gives Day. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

To set Greenbriar apart from the countless nonprofits who will be vying for charitable donations on Nov. 28, the Savannah-based organization is launching the "680 Campaign." Greenbriar has been helping children and families in the Coastal Empire for 68 successful years. The nonprofit’s new initiative commemorates that achievement and gives Greenbriar a unique approach to the upcoming giving opportunity. Whether donors can contribute $6.80 or $680.00, Greenbriar leaders say they’re happy to have the community’s support.

“Every contribution helps to fund our programs and makes an impact in the lives of local children and families. Make Greenbriar your charity of choice on Nov. 28 and help us spread the word about our ‘680 Campaign,” said Greenbriar Executive Director Gena Taylor.

The nonprofit’s leadership team is planning a multi-faceted campaign roll-out that will target print media, social media and other digital platforms, printed supplementary materials, and television and radio interviews.
