United Way Volunteers Invites Nominations for Volunteer Recognition Awards

United Way Volunteers invites nominations for citizens who demonstrate excellence in community leadership through volunteerism. Nominees will be honored at the 39th Annual United Way Volunteer Recognition Awards luncheon. Nominations can be made at www.unitedwayvolunteers.org. The nomination deadline is Friday, March 2, 2018.

Nominations for outstanding individuals or groups are requested in the following categories:

  1. Animal Advocacy

  2. Arts & Culture

  3. Education

  4. Environment

  5. Health & Human Services

  6. Volunteer Administrator of the Year

A panel of community-minded judges will select a winner from each category who has demonstrated outstanding achievements.  The United Way Herschel V. Jenkins Volunteer of the Year Award will be selected from the overall winners in the above categories. The winner’s non-profit organization will be awarded $1,000 in honor of the winner.

Nominees will be recognized with complimentary admission to the luncheon, a spotlight in the program booklet, and a small token of appreciation.  Results will be announced during the 39th Annual United Way Volunteer Recognition Awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 11:45 am at Savannah Station. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person or $250 for a table of 10.
