Savannah Music Festival Announces Two New Incoming Members for Board of Directors

Savannah Music Festival, a leading nonprofit performing arts organization, announces two new additions to its Board of Directors. Joining the now 30-member Board, M. Ann Levett, PhD and David C. Johnson, Jr. are responsible for providing leadership toward continued growth and success of the 29-year-old organization. New Additions to SMF Board of Directors:

M. Ann Levett, PhD
Related experience: Dr. Levett is the Superintendent of the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. She serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Telfair Museums, Board of Directors for Greenbriar Children's Center, Board of Directors of MountainFilm on Tour Savannah, Board of Directors of Communities in Schools, member of Downtown Rotary Club of Savannah, Board of Community Advisors for Junior League of Savannah, Advisory Board for St. Joseph/Candler African-American Health Information and Resource Center, Scholarship Chair of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame and Chair of the Delta Foundation.

Education: Dr. Levett earned a B.S. in Speech and Language Pathology from Armstrong State College after completing most of her studies in Education at Savannah State College. She earned a Masters degree in Special Education, a Masters degree in Public Administration and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Georgia Southern University. Dr. Levett earned her doctorate in Educational Administration at the University of Georgia.

David C. Johnson, Jr.
Related experience: Mr. Johnson is a principal in a South Carolina-based real estate development partnership and Marketfield Asset Management in New York. Prior to joining Marketfield, he was an investment analyst, portfolio manage and head of business development at Wilkinson O’Grady & Company and previously managed a primary sales group for Salomon Brothers. Mr. Johnson was also President of Preservation Group.

Education: Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; he received his Master of Business Administration from Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
