Goodwill to Honor Business and Community Leaders

Goodwill Southeast Georgia will honor local business and community leaders and Goodwill program participants at the 2nd Annual Community Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at The Ships of the Sea Museum in downtown Savannah.

Guerry Lumber and its President, Steve Chick will be recognized as Business Partner of the Year for their ongoing commitment to Goodwill’s mission to assist individuals to become employed.

The Junior League of Savannah represented by Melissa Jackson, President, and Laura McKenzie, Event Thrift Sale Chairman, will receive the Green Partner Award for their support of Goodwill’s commitment to responsible recycling and keeping items out of the waste stream.

The Chatham County Juvenile Court will be recognized as Goodwill’s Community Partner of the Year in recognition of the leadership of judges LeRoy Burke III, Lisa G. Colbert and Thomas L. Cole in establishing the collaborative Work Readiness Enrichment Program.  The program provide intervention services for at risk youth who are on probation or have been removed from mainstream school.

USI Insurance Services is the presenting sponsor of this celebratory program dedicated to Goodwill’s mission to assist those overcoming barriers to become employed and the understanding that every individual should be given the opportunity to achieve his or her highest level of self-sufficiency.

Allyson Harvin and Diana Morrison will join CEO Michael Winckler as hosts.  Steering Committee members for the 2018 dinner are Vernon Buckman, Diana Morrison, Allyson Harvin, Michael Sullivan, Al Wright and David Slatinsky.
