Yoga Me Fit Slated to Host ‘Strings of The Heart’ Concert June 30th

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, June 14th, 2018

Yoga Me Fit is excited to announce the second “Strings of the Heart” concert which will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Savannah Yoga Barre, 2132 E. Victory Drive, in Savannah.

Yoga Me Fit founder and owner, Lynn Geddes Wolling has spent several months during the past two years visiting Varanasi, India, and studying Kirwani raga music. She invites people to experience an Indian Classical Composition called Raga Kirwani, along with a song called Nuu, which was written by Deobrat Mishra. This South Indian raga has a melancholy, heartfelt, sentimental feel with moods of love, devotion and sadness.

Raga is a melodic framework for improvisation and composition with fixed notes that characterize different moods and is performed with classical Indian instruments such as the sitar and table.

“A raga will make the listener feel the music and really experience the mood,” said Wolling. “The energy is conveyed to the listener from the practitioner, and it is a lovely exchange, between performer and listener. We love to perform the music and share this beautiful Indian Classical composition with others.”

Tickets for this event cost $10 each, and can be purchased by visiting https://www.eventbrite.com/e/strings-of-the-heart-tickets-46241995052?aff=es2.
