Wednesday, July 25th, 2018

Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected local resident Roosevelt Board to be the franchise owner of its first Staten Island restaurant – Chick-fil-A Staten Island Mall – set to open later this summer. The restaurant will be located in the newly renovated Food District inside Staten Island Mall and will be the sixth Chick-fil-A location in the five boroughs of New York City. Roosevelt, who has been with Chick-fil-A for more than seven years, recently relocated to the area his wife, Tay, to open the restaurant.

Locally Owned and Operated

A native of South Carolina, Roosevelt was born into an Army family and spent parts of his childhood living in New York, Colorado, South Carolina and Georgia. He returned to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University where he majored in Marketing and, following college, began his career with Chick-fil-A. He served as General Manager of Chick-fil-A Murrells Inlet on the South Carolina coast, and later spent nearly three years on the road as a Grand Opening Supervisor, opening restaurants across the country. He is eager to put down roots and to serve the vibrant Staten Island community.

Roosevelt will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the restaurant, employing approximately 50 full- and part-time employees, building relationships with local organizations and businesses, and serving guests.

“Staten Island is a thriving community, and I’m excited to introduce Chick-fil-A to our future customers,” Roosevelt said. ”I look forward to being a great neighbor in the business community and to giving back in Staten Island in the ways that are most meaningful to our guests and community members.”

Regarding the 50+ Team Members he will be hiring, Roosevelt added: “At Chick-fil-A Staten Island Mall, our Team Members will find a fun, rewarding and challenging workplace where the sky is the limit. I’d love to see them grow with Chick-fil-A and to realize the opportunity that they, too, can one day become a Chick-fil-A Operator.”

Chick-fil-A Staten Island Mall will open in the newly renovated Food District inside Staten Island Mall, located at 2655 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.

Like all Chick-fil-A restaurants, the chicken served in this restaurant will be 100 percent whole breast meat, without any fillers, hormones or additives. Each chicken breast is hand-breaded to order and pressure cooked in 100 percent refined peanut oil, which is naturally trans-fat- and cholesterol-free. By the end of 2019, every Chick-fil-A restaurant will serve chicken raised without antibiotics.

Community Citizen

Chick-fil-A is an active contributor to the community and is committed to giving back in New York City. Through this initiative, Chick-fil-A Staten Island Mall will give back to Project Hospitality, whose mission is to connect with community members who are hungry, homeless or otherwise in need in order to work with them to achieve their self-sufficiency.
