Junior Achievement of Georgia-Coastal Region is pleased to announce Dr. Annette Brock, Dale C. Critz, Jr., and Charles Morris have been named the 2018 Business Hall of Fame inductees. The laureates, who will be recognized for outstanding business accomplishments and extensive contributions to the city, will be honored at the 19th annual Savannah Business Hall of Fame, sponsored by Junior Achievement of Georgia-Coastal Region and Colonial Group, Inc., on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. Tickets to this year’s event can be purchased online at http://www.georgia.ja.org/hall-of-fame-savannah/.

“This year’s Business Hall of Fame inductees are passionately engaged with the Savannah community and have dedicated their lives to making our region a better one,” said Camille Russo, executive director of statewide development for Junior Achievement of Georgia. “The work they have collectively done will leave a lasting legacy with the children of the Coastal Empire.”

Dr. Annette Brock, a Savannah native, devoted her entire career to education. She was employed by the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Public Education for eight years and at Savannah State University for 33 years, where she worked in a variety of roles, including professor, department head, acting president, and vice president of institutional advancement. Before her retirement in 2004, Brock created several fundraisers for the university: T.I.G.E.R. Scholarship Payroll Deduction Program, Hill Hall Gala, Hill Hall Telethon, and the Tom Joyner School of the Month, which established a Tom Joyner Endowed Scholarship.

Another Savannah native, Dale C. Critz, Jr., serves as president and CEO of Critz Auto Group, a third-generation group of dealerships founded in 1938 that represents Mercedes-Benz, BMW, GMC Truck, and Sprinter Vans. However, he is just as well known for his service to Savannah, including as chair elect, Telfair Museums; campaign chair and board chair, United Way of the Coastal Empire; chair, Savannah Community Foundation; and chair, Savannah Historic Board of Review, just to name a few. He also founded the Critz Tybee Run Fest, the proceeds of which are donated to local charities focused on education and healthy living.

The third inductee, Charles H. Morris, serves as president and CEO of Morris Multimedia, Inc., a company that owns and operates more than 65 daily and non-daily newspapers, magazines, and specialty publications, and Morris Network, Inc., which owns 12 network affiliate television stations. He serves as chairman emeritus on the board of the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire, an organization that provides immediate financial assistance to the surviving spouse and children of local law enforcement officers and firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty while protecting their communities.

Junior Achievement of Georgia-Coastal Region and its volunteers work to bridge the gap between the business and education communities by providing relevant, hands-on curriculum to focus on entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy and workforce readiness for students in kindergarten through grade 12.
