Colony Bank Welcomes Three New Vice Presidents

Colony Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Jeremy Summerell, Shelly Butler and Keith Parker as Vice Presidents at the Company’s Savannah market. The additions to the Colony Bank’s commercial banking division continue to strengthen its capabilities, bring extensive professional experience and community knowledge to the Bank’s team there, and will promote new growth in the market.

Commenting on the additions, Drew Hulsey, Coastal Regional President, said, “We are excited about the new opportunities Jeremy, Shelly and Keith will bring to our commercial banking division in Savannah. This community continues to expand, and Colony Bank is ready and able to meet the current and future needs of the market. We consider ourselves partners with the businesses we support, and these seasoned team members will add new depth and breadth to our presence in Savannah as we carry out a mission of providing a solutions-based approach to banking and customer service.”

Summerell joins Colony Bank as a Vice President of Commercial Banking. He brings with him 15 years of well-rounded financial services experience that includes lending, management, financial planning and developing strategies to protect client assets for generations to come. Summerell will be located at Hodgson Memorial Drive.

A lifelong resident of Isle of Hope, where he lives with his wife and two sons, Summerell graduated from Savannah Country Day School before attending college at the College of Charleston, where he graduated in 2002 with a degree in Political Science.
 
His service to the community includes St. Andrew’s Society of Savannah, Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Georgia, fundraisings and awareness for cancer research and treatment programs through St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital. He also serves on the board of the Forest City Gun Club.

Butler joins Colony Bank as Vice President of Commercial Banking with over 22 years of banking experience in the Greater Savannah area. While she will be located at the Bank’s newest office on Drayton Street, her scope of business will reach to all areas of the Greater Savannah Market.

Before joining Colony, Butler spent the majority of her career with SunTrust Banks, Inc., where she served as the Group Vice President & Area Manager for Savannah and Brunswick. After a nearly 20-year career with SunTrust, she returned to her roots of community banking, where she served in the role of Business Relationship & Branch Manager for a regional competitor. Throughout her career, she has been consistently recognized as a top performer.

Butler received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She currently serves on the Community Council for Savannah Technical College, is active in the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, gives much time in the Savannah-Chatham School system, coaches for the Bryan County Recreation Department, and is in active ministry in her church, along with domestic and foreign missions. Butler and her husband of 23 years, Larry, have three children.

Parker joins Colony Bank as a Vice President of Commercial Banking with 27 years of experience in the finance and banking industry. As a native of Savannah, he has developed strong relationships throughout the community. He is a graduate of The University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a degree in Finance.

Professionally, Parker has served on the Small Business Assistance Corporation MicroLoan Board, Bank on Savannah, and Sunrise Rotary Club of Savannah. Throughout his career, Parker has earned numerous performance and innovation honors. He utilizes his continuing education when evaluating his client’s individual goals and developing strategies to sustain growth. He also has assumed leadership roles with his alma mater, Benedictine Military School, previously serving as the Alumni Association President and Athletic Association President, as well as spurring the implementation of Benedictine’s competitive robotics program. Parker is an active member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, the St. Patrick’s Day Adjutant Staff, and the Hibernian Society. He was a graduate of Leadership Savannah in 2016. He is a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Parker and his wife, Diane, are the proud parents of a college-aged son and a rambunctious beagle.
