Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, March 8th, 2019

This July, Girl Scouts from around the country will travel to historic Savannah for an adventure unlike any other. Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia (GSHG) is hosting QuestFest, a weekend of fun adventures, challenges and entertainment from July 18-21, in the home of where it all began. This is our third year hosting the event, and it keeps getting bigger and better.

New Alum Track Added; GSUSA CEO to attend - There’s something new this year! It doesn’t matter whether she was a Girl Scout for one year or 10 years! All Girl Scout alums are invited back to the historic home of Girl Scouting in Savannah for this exciting one-of-a-kind opportunity to reconnect with past troop members and make new Girl Scout connections. Another exciting addition this year is the attendance of Girl Scout USA CEO - and our resident rocket scientist – Sylvia Acevedo, who will speak during the alumnae luncheon.

What is QuestFest anyway - All Girl Scouts can join the “Quest” – a scavenger hunt of epic proportion through the Historic District of Savannah. Teams will set out in search of an experience, rather than an item. Using a smart phone, teams will choose from a list of challenges, and submit a photo or video via the unique QuestFest app as evidence of their accomplishment. The “Fest” is the cherry on top of an amazing weekend of Questing. When not racing, teams can enjoy lots of other weekend festivities, including a Girl Scout Expo, dinner cruise down the Savannah River, an unforgettable Bridging experience over the Talmadge Bridge, and s’more fun at Girl Scout Camp Low.

There are two tracks – one for Girl Scouts and one for Girl Scout alums. Both tracks offer tons of fun and an opportunity to walk the paths of our founder Juliette Gordon Low.
