Area small businesses will have the opportunity to learn valuable retail strategies during a full day class being offered on October 1st in Statesboro and October 8th in Vidalia. The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is partnering with the Toombs-Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority to host the Accelerate Your Retail Business twice in the area to allow local retailers time to brush up on their sales techniques and learn new strategies before the 2019 holiday rush.
Valerie McElveen, Area Director for the UGA SBDC at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro explained, “Business owners who attend this class will learn three key human resources practices, how to reach customers in today’s digital world and other business and sales strategies that impact profitability. They’ll leave with a copy of our Retail Business Checklist and many other tools to improve their retail performance. I encourage all local retailers to register as soon as possible so they can take advantage of the early bird discount.”
The class runs from 9AM to 4PM and costs $39 with the early bird discount and includes lunch. The Statesboro class will be held in the Business Innovation Group (BIG) classroom at 58 E Main, Suite D. The Vidalia class will be held in the Southeast Georgia Technical College Conference Center at 100 A Brinson Road.
