Oliver Maner, an award-winning law firm providing superior legal services since 1897, is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Holland and Brian Griffin to the firm. Holland will serve as an associate in the firm’s litigation division and focus her expertise on the representation of municipalities, counties, state authorities, and their employees. Griffin is an associate in Oliver Maner’s litigation division and concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal and county liability, business litigation, zoning and land use litigation, and professional negligence defense.

ELIZABETH HOLLAND

Prior to joining Oliver Maner as an associate practicing in the firm’s litigation division, she worked as a summer associate with the firm. She also completed prestigious legal clerkships with Governor Roy Barnes and the Barnes Law Group and Superior Court Judge Lawton Stephens. Additionally, Holland previously interned in the legislative offices of Congressman Sanford Bishop and State Representative Spencer Frye. Originally from Sycamore, Ga., Holland received her B.A. in political science, summa cum laude, and B.A. in journalism/public relations, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia. She later earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. Holland served on the editorial board for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law (JIPL) and was awarded the 2018 JIPL Best Long Note Award. Her note, Will You Have to Pay for the O.C.G.A.?: Copyrighting the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, was cited in an amicus brief filed in the U.S. Supreme Court. She is a registered mediator and volunteer with Youth in Government and Georgia’s Youth Assembly.

BRIAN GRIFFIN

Prior to joining Oliver Maner, Griffin worked as a summer associate with the firm. He is a former White House intern, having served in the Office of White House Counsel, and gained valuable courtroom experience with the Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, where he practiced under Georgia’s Third-Year Practice Act. Originally from Tifton, Ga., Griffin graduated, magna cum laude, from Georgia Southern University with a B.A. in political science, and graduated, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law. During law school, he was an editor of the Georgia Law Review; served his peers as class president; served as president of the Georgia Law Republicans; and was a member of the Federalist Society. In his last year, Griffin’s classmates selected him to deliver the student commencement address at graduation. Before entering law school, Griffin completed the United States Department of State internship at the U.S. Consulate in Milan, Italy, and taught English to public school children in rural Chile, where he became fluent in Spanish. He has been involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in various capacities since 2012.
