Currently celebrating its 21st season, SBT was established in 1998 under the artistic direction of Suzanne Braddy. Recognized as the premiere dance company in Southeast Georgia, SBT is best known locally for its annual production of the perennial holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. SBT presents a full season of classical and contemporary dance every year.  The beloved non-profit organization is committed to creating and curating artistically forceful new productions which are based on adaptations of popular stories and movies such as Jack the Ripper and The Wizard of Oz in 2019 and The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe and The Little Mermaid, planned for 2020.

“We are Savannah’s only local ballet theatre and we are excited to attract such an amazing level of international talent,” says SBT Advancement Director Abby McCuen. “We believe our 21st season is the best yet, as these gifted dancers chose to come to Savannah to help our organization bring our community awe-inspiring productions.”
