Municipal Court Judge Derek White Formally Qualifies to Run for State Court Judge of Chatham County

Municipal Court Judge Derek White has formally qualified to run for the position of State Court Judge of Chatham County. Chief Judge Gregory Fowler, who currently holds the seat, is not running for reelection.
 
“Judge Fowler has been an excellent judge for our community and mentor to me, and we need an experienced attorney with a judicial background to fill this vacancy,” said Derek White. “As a municipal judge for multiple cities in Chatham County, I have the experience we need in our next State Court Judge. I have experience in both criminal and civil law, and have operated my own legal practice for 18 years.”
 
As a private practice attorney, White manages his own legal practice, The White Law Group, in Pooler, Ga. White earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University and his Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law.
 
White and his wife, Kelli, have two adult children and are active members of Church at Godley Station.
 
The election is non-partisan and will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the same day as the primary for the Republican and Democratic parties.
