Ogeechee Technical College graduate and current OTC Foundation Board Member, Star Harris, was presented with the “Director of the Year” award at the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet on January 28.

Each year the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce recognizes several community members with awards at their annual meeting. The Director of the Year award is given in recognition of outstanding commitment and leadership in community service.

Harris explained what an honor it was to receive the Director of the Year award at this year’s banquet based on her leadership in service. “I have spent many years serving on the Board of Directors for the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce.  When I worked at NeSmith Chevrolet, Mr. NeSmith stressed the importance of serving the community and giving back to the community we live and work in.  This stuck with me over the years, and I have been able to serve the community in different roles,” said Harris.

Harris graduated from Ogeechee Tech in 2010 and has been serving on the OTC Foundation Board since 2016.
