Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, April 6th, 2020

SpringHill Suites By Marriott in Savannah’s Historic District, located at 150 Montgomery St. at the intersection of Montgomery and Oglethorpe, is offering discounted hotel rooms to healthcare workers and first responders who want a safe haven away from home instead of potentially infecting their families while they care for patients during the coronavirus pandemic.

“During these trying times, we want to provide a safe, comfortable and centrally located home away from home for the people on the front lines,” SpringHill Suites General Manager Leonard Massey. “Taking care of the people that take care of us is an honor.”

Friends and family rates are being offered to firefighters, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and medical patient care providers, as well as employees with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) and Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA). Prices that normally range from $129 to $179 per room/per night will now be $59 to $69 per room/per night for the duration of the pandemic.
