Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union is honoring fellow frontline workers in the Savannah community with Thank You Thursdays. In an effort that began on May 21st, Georgia Heritage is setting aside each Thursday to recognize members and branch employees serving the community with dedication and perseverance throughout the pandemic. Members and branch employees will be honored throughout the day on G100FM and BOB106.9. Additionally, Georgia Heritage staff will deliver tokens of appreciation to these community heroes.

“During this pandemic people have banded together to help each other like never before. Just like our own employees, many of our members are also serving in essential capacities and have been on the frontline helping and serving our community,” says GHFCU President and CEO Dale Taratuta. “This dedication is the embodiment of our mission to make a positive difference for our members and the communities we serve. Thank You Thursdays is our way of expressing our gratitude to those who have been serving selflessly to keep our community going.”

On May 21st, Georgia Heritage honored Jenn Fried with AppleCare Urgent Care in Pooler along with Georgia Heritage Branch Manager Catherine Pompei and the Pooler Branch employees. Dr. Kristina Johnson with Memorial Health-Family Care Richmond Hill will be the May 28th honoree along with Branch Manager Bill Patrick and the Stephenson Branch employees. On June 4th, Georgia Heritage will honor International Paper’s Kendall Bragg and Rincon Fire Department firefighters Damian Sampson and Alan Hazard along with Branch Manager Victoria Harden and Lathrop Branch employees. Thank You Thursdays will conclude on June 11th by honoring Otto Burke with Walmart Distribution along with Branch Manager Lori Mastronardi and Rincon employees.

The Thank You Thursday effort comes on the heels of other initiative by Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union to make a positive impact in the community during this time. Georgia Heritage recently donated five chrome-books to the Savannah Chatham County School System to assist disadvantaged students who needed this technology to continue their education throughout the school closings.  In addition, Georgia Heritage is joining with other local credit unions to make a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank.
