Due to the pandemic of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the closing of all public schools, there is an increased demand for food for children in-need in our community. During this challenging time, People of Action Caring for Kids (P.A.C.K.), a local nonprofit organization, is fulfilling its mission by making sure kids and families still have food on the table.

In a typical month, P.A.C.K. gives out about 10,000 bags to children in about 33 different schools and community centers. The charity has had triple the demand as more families and children are at home with no food in their fridge or pantry.

One local business, Profile by Sanford Savannah, has stepped up to the plate to support P.A.C.K. during this time and beyond through volunteering and donations. Profile offers nutrition, activity, and lifestyle coaching through personalized programs developed by top scientists, researchers and physicians that offer members one-on-one instruction and customized meal plans. This is an ideal partnership as proper nutrition is the basis of Profile by Sanford’s mission.

To accommodate social distancing, Profile is now offering virtual health coaching for new and existing members and free delivery of food products throughout Chatham and Bryan counties. Members use a combination of nutritionally balanced Profile foods and grocery foods like fresh produce and healthy proteins until they fully learn how to create a balanced meal plan for themselves.

To give people the chance to experience this health enhancing program, Profile is offering a $50 off membership deal only in May for individuals who would like to take advantage of their virtual nutrition coaching and free food delivery at this time.

The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has recently brought our well-being and immune system health into perspective. A safe and effective vaccine and cure for COVID-19 is unlikely to be available any time soon so many of us are doing all we can to protect ourselves not only from the infection but also to boost our immune systems. In addition, statistics prove that people who have underlying medical conditions are at a higher risk for severe illness and death from COVID-19. Now more than ever before, it is important to invest in our health and boost our immune systems through quality nutrition. This is even more important for people with obesity, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes, who have more risk factors.

Eating right and making balanced lifestyle choices is becoming even more important in today’s world, which is where Profile by Sanford Savannah can help. Profile promises members will lose 15% of their body weight after attending at least 20 coaching sessions and following the program as directed by their coach. Not only will the nutrition program deliver sustained weight loss, but health improvement because Profile teaches members nutritional skills for long-term health and well-being, not just for shedding the pounds. Profile is backed by Sanford Health and protocols are created by physicians and researchers at this established and highly respected company.

“A healthy lifestyle is the driving force behind Profile by Sanford’s coaching and mission, and through this challenging time, we are hoping to connect with the community and get them involved in their own wellness journeys to keep everyone as safe as possible,” said Profile by Sanford owner Missy Jones.
