Savannah Early College senior Nigel Smith is one of four students in Georgia to advance to the national level of competition in the FBLA database design and applications test.

The competition is held in two parts.  The first is a Production test that involves Multiple Table Database Design; Table Creation, Inserting Data into Tables; Table SQL Statements; and the Creation of Forms/Reports. and an objective test.  The second is an Objective test that involves Data Definitions/Terminologies; Query Development; Table Relationships; Form Development; Reports and Forms.

The event recognizes FBLA members who demonstrate that they have acquired entry level skills for understanding database usage and development in business.  The national competition is normally held in conjunction with the organization's annual National Leadership Conference that had been scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City next month.  The conference and the competition have now been moved online and the competition will be conducted virtually.
