Greenbriar Children’s Center is proud to announce the addition of two new members to their team: Cherie L. B. Trice as the new Director of Development and Julie Salitros as the Clinical Coordinator. Trice has significant experience working with and directing nonprofit organizations and Salitros has an extensive background in psychology and working with children.

Cherie L. B. Trice graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University and has a master’s degree from the University of St. Joseph. Prior to Trice’s work in the nonprofit field, she spent over 20 years in the financial services industry working with high net worth clients as a portfolio manager and trust officer. 

Trice was previously the Director of Giving at Foodshare, a regional food bank in Connecticut that served an estimated 118,000 food-insecure individuals, 33,000 of them being children. During her tenure there, she developed several new successful fundraisers and expanded the giving program. She oversaw major gifts and corporate and community giving due to her background in financial services. 

Now a Savannahian, Trice already shows her devotion to her new home city and its community volunteering for several organizations. She is a member of the Savannah chapter of 100 Women Who Care and is a volunteer for the Forsyth Farmer’s Market, the Savannah Book Festival, and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Julie Salitros has worked in the field of mental health, specifically with children, for over 12 years. She graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and later earned a Master of Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner, and is in the process of becoming eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) trained.

Salitros has professional experience in a multitude of areas, making her a well-rounded appointee for Clinical Coordinator who will be able to relate to anyone she serves. She has worked in residential, hospital, in-home, prison/jail, and outpatient settings. In addition, she has worked with children, specifically with children with autism, intellectual disabilities, non-verbal children, and PECS, as well as more severe and persistent mental illness in all ages such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective and bi-polar disorder. Salitros has also worked closely with substance abuse and trauma survivors. 

“The addition of these two impressive women to our team will greatly contribute to Greenbriar’s growth throughout the community,” Executive Director of Greenbriar Gena Taylor said. “Both Cherie and Julie have backgrounds that will not only further our mission to nurture children and strengthen families, but will also bring new ideas and experiences to our community.” 

Greenbriar Children’s Center is a nonprofit organization that promotes the healthy development of children and the strengthening of families through services provided. These services include early childhood education and care, family support services, emergency shelter, and Project Safe Place. With the addition of new members to the Greenbriar team, they will be able to reach and relate to more of the community through personalized and individualized services.
