Staff Report

The Savannah Chatham County Public Schools Stadium at Islands High School has hosted a few weeks of football contests now.  Have you been to see this fantastic new facility?  While full capacity is not recommended at this time, due to the pandemic, the stadium will hold 2,000 spectators and boasts a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard, as well as exciting lighting capabilities and equipped lockers for Home and Away teams. The stadium was built as a multi-sport venue, and the field will accommodate soccer and lacrosse, in addition to football.  Also, there is a regulation track for track and field events.  A “fan zone" is available for guests to enjoy the sports experience at any game.  Just beyond the fan zone is one of the unique features of the stadium: The Flag Stand, which includes flags from all the high schools in the district.

This is one example of how ESPLOST pennies are providing new and enhanced facilities for Savannah Chatham County Public Schools.  These pennies add up to great experiences for our students!

We've created this video to showcase the beauty of the new stadium.  We look forward to seeing you at the SCCPSS District Stadium at Islands High School very soon.
